Kids Camps is a community organisation which provides recreation and respite camps for children with an intellectual disability living at home. These camps are only made possible by the generous support and assistance of volunteers from the community. Our volunteers range from 17 to 60+ years of age and come from all walks of life, with the largest group being tertiary students wanting to gain practical and hands on experience working with special needs, recreation and children. We are happy to accept students on practical placements and can complete the necessary paperwork and evaluations.
Once you are a part of the Kids Camps Volunteer team you automatically receive our mailout every quarter and invites to social events, and every camp you do counts towards great prizes with our Volunteer Recognition Scheme. Camp is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people, have fun and get away from the stresses of life while contributing to the community.
Camps are available throughout the year, with 6, 4 and 2 day camp opportunities so odds are there is a camp that suits the time you have available. Go on contact the Voluteer Coordinator to find out more information.
